NMOPSAP reiterates demand for Old Pension Scheme, opposes UPS

ITANAGAR, Apr 21: The National Movement for Old Pension Scheme Arunachal Pradesh (NMOPSAP) has reiterated its demand for restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

In a representation submitted to the Chief Minister, the organisation also expressed opposition to the proposed Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), stating that it lacks clarity and remains a market-linked system similar to the National Pension System.

It claimed that the UPS has been introduced amid growing dissatisfaction with the NPS and termed it an attempt to divide those advocating for restoration of the Old Pension Scheme. NMOPSAP further said that it would continue to press for reinstatement of OPS in the interest of government employees.
