KHONSA, Apr 21: Tirap District Police cracked multiple theft cases reported in Khonsa between April 13 and 20, and arrested several accused persons involved in the crime with stolen items.
On April 13, cases were registered at Khonsa police station regarding theft of an inverter and battery from a residence, electrical wiring from the District Medical Officer’s office, and LAN/internet cables from the DC’s office.
During investigation, a habitual offender, Telep Siksa of Upper Kolam village, was apprehended. Based on his disclosure, stolen items including an inverter, battery, and copper wires were recovered.
In another case reported the same day, involving theft of construction materials, two accused—Pobang Ngobang and Wangkham Rangyang—were arrested, and stolen construction rods were recovered.
Further, on April 20, in connection with theft of construction materials from Kholla Camp, two accused—Rannyok Sumnyan and Lokchang Wangsa—were apprehended, leading to recovery of stolen rods.
All cases were registered under relevant sections of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and PDPP (Prevention of Damage to Public Property) Act, and investigations were carried out by officers of Khonsa Police Station.
Meanwhile, Tirap Police have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order and taking strict action against theft and related crimes in the district. (DIPRO)
