YINGKIONG, Apr 24: Public support for the Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR) activities of proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project continues to grow in Upper Siang district, with more residents of Likor village extending their consent.
Earlier, 28 families had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 19 last in support of the PFR activities, followed by seven more families on March 24. On Friday, an additional 36 families formally extended their support, taking the total number of consenting families from Likor village to 71.
Representing the residents, Ombeng Danggen, along with Project Affected Families (PAFs), submitted the list of 36 supporting members to Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang at the DC Office conference hall here. The submission was made in the presence of ZPC Api Komboh, former Chief Engineer and State Nodal Officer (SUMP) Er Atek Miyu, and other PAFs, reaffirming their collective support for the PFR activities.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, the DC elaborated on various aspects of the PFR survey and clarified doubts and misconceptions among the Project Affected Families regarding the process. (DIPRO)
