‘Abysmal’ condition at a GPS in L/Siang, ZPC urges early Govt intervention

LIKABALI, Apr 26: With education being the backbone of society’s future, the abysmal condition of a government primary school in Lower Siang district shows the other way round.

Lower Siang Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) Pakmo Koyu visited Government Primary School, Adi Tako to take stock of educational infrastructure at the GPS, on the occasion of the National Panchayat Day.

The ZPC was accompanied by GPC Goli Basar, GPM Iri Bam, and members of the general public.

During the visit, the ZPC was engaged in an interaction with the teaching staff to understand the ground realities of the school. This revealed a deeply concerning situation. The school infrastructure is in an extremely poor and unsafe condition, with classrooms deteriorating and walls at risk of collapsing at any time, posing a serious threat to the safety of students and teachers.

It was further observed that the school is functioning without basic essential facilities.

Such conditions highlight a critical gap in basic educational infrastructure that requires urgent attention.

In light of these challenges, the ZPC made an earnest appeal to the State government for immediate intervention and necessary measures to improve the infrastructure and ensure a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for children.

Education is the foundation of society’s future, and such conditions cannot be overlooked, emphasized the ZPC.

National Panchayat Day was also solemnly observed across Gensi, Seren, Koyu, Sibe, Kangku, and Likabali by ZPMs, marking the importance of grassroots governance and community participation. (DIPRO)
