YUPIA, Apr 27: The Papum Pare District Administration has on April 25 successfully completed the training of enumerators and supervisors for the upcoming Census of India 2027.
The training was conducted in two phases across various sub-divisions. Phase I was held from April 20 to 22 in Balijan, Doimukh, and Sagalee, while Phase II took place from April 23 to 25 in Balijan, Kimin, and Sagalee.
Altogether, 41 supervisors and 173 enumerators from Balijan, Doimukh, Kimin, and Sagalee sub-divisions were trained for the Houselisting and Housing Census (Phase I).
Enumerators will carry out door-to-door visits from May 1 to 30, 2026, to collect household data. Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Lobsang Tsering has urged residents to cooperate fully by providing accurate and complete information across the 34 prescribed questionnaires.
Assistant Director of Economics & Statistics-cum-Additional District Census Officer Leleen Regon stated that the data collected will form a vital basis for planning and policy formulation by the Government of India over the next decade.
Officials assured that all information collected during the census will remain strictly confidential and is not covered under the Right to Information Act, 2005. (DIPRO)
