AALO, Apr 28: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi chaired a district level NCORD (Narco Coordination) meeting at his office conference hall here.
Speaking at the meeting, the DC urged the Superintendent of Police, along with officials from the Tax & Excise and Health Departments, and the DDSE West Siang to maintain strict vigilance over drug-related cases. He emphasized that drug peddlers must be dealt with firmly and without leniency.
While directing the concerned departments to initiate regular inspections of Beer Bars with immediate effect, the DC instructed that strict action be taken against violators of rules and regulations, and warned that repeated violations would result in immediate cancellation of licenses. He also stressed the importance of adhering to government-prescribed operating hours.
Additionally, he stated that if individuals below 21 years of age are found in ‘Bars’ during inspections, stringent action will be taken against the owners.
Earlier, Kardak Riba, Superintendent of Police West Siang, briefed the house on the objectives of the NCORD meeting. He also presented the Action Taken Report of the previous meeting, stating that several cases related to drugs have been registered, while some remain under investigation at various police stations.
The meeting was also attended by administrative officers; NCORD members, and HoDs. (DIPRO)
