PASIGHAT, Apr 30: The 230 Medium Regiment, Sigar Military Station, East Siang district organised an informative and interactive awareness session on Operation Sindoor at the Arunachal Pradesh University (APU) Pasighat premises on Thursday. The session witnessed participation from faculty, students, and administrative staff of the university.
Colonel Partha Sarathi Batabyal, Commanding Officer of the 230 Medium Regiment, delivered the keynote address, providing an overview of Operation Sindoor—India’s precision counter-terrorism strike conducted in May 2025 in response to a major terrorist attack on civilians.
He highlighted the professionalism and operational capability of the Indian Army, emphasizing the importance of relying on verified and official information in an era of widespread misinformation. He noted that the operation was carried out with restraint, precision, and strategic clarity, earning recognition globally as a measured response to cross-border terrorism.
The officer also underscored the strong tri-service coordination demonstrated during the operation, with the Army, Air Force, and Navy working in close synergy. He further spoke about India’s growing indigenous defence capabilities, reflecting the country’s focus on self-reliance and technological advancement.
Encouraging youth participation, Colonel Batabyal urged students to consider joining the Indian Army and serving the nation with dedication and pride. He said the youth of the Northeast, known for their resilience and courage, have a vital role to play in strengthening the country’s defence forces.
As part of the programme, a short documentary film on Operation Sindoor was also screened, offering insights into the objectives, execution, and outcomes of the operation, which drew keen interest from the audience.
Earlier, APU Registrar Narmi Darang, in his welcome address, appreciated the initiative of the Indian Army in bringing this programme to the university campus. He emphasised the role of universities in nurturing informed and responsible citizens and said such engagements help strengthen ties between academic institutions and the armed forces.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, with active participation from students and faculty members.
