CGST authorities hold interactive session with traders in Bomdila

Bomdila, Apr 30: An interactive session between CGST authorities and traders of West Kameng district was held at Bomdila on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening engagement and addressing concerns related to GST compliance.

The programme was attended by Surjit Bhujabal, Member (Compliance Management/Zonal Member), Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), along with Shyam Kanu Mahanta, CGST Commissioner, Arunachal Pradesh, and other departmental officials.

Organised by the CGST Commissionerate, Itanagar, the session sought to facilitate direct interaction with local traders and businesspersons. A large number of participants from across the district attended and raised various issues pertaining to GST compliance.

Officials acknowledged the concerns and assured that necessary steps would be taken to address them. They also informed that similar awareness programmes would be conducted in the future to enhance understanding of GST provisions.

West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar, who also attended the session, appreciated the initiative of the CGST authorities in reaching out to the trading community. He noted that such interactions help promote better awareness and compliance with GST regulations.

He further lauded the active participation of traders, describing their role in strengthening tax compliance as a valuable contribution to nation-building, and assured continued support from the district administration for organising such outreach programmes. (DIPRO)
