ITANAGAR, May 2: The NSS Unit of Govt College Doimukh (GCD) organized a TB awareness outreach programme at Kheel village under Toru circle in Papum Pare district recently, with the objective of effectively implementing TB elimination initiatives under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan -100 days campaign.
The NSS volunteers conducted a door-to-door campaign to disseminate information and create awareness about TB, encouraging community participation. They appealed to the villagers to engage as Ni-kshay Mitras and provide psychosocial support to TB patients, thereby reducing social stigma.
On the occasion, NSS programme officer Dr Eva Dupak administered Ni-kshay shapath (pledge) to the villagers and volunteers.
This outreach programme formed part of the flagship Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan -100 days campaign aimed at eliminating tuberculosis.
