Tagak inaugurates TWS central office at Tigdo

Itanagar, May 3: Veteran BJP leader and former Advisor to the Chief Minister, Tai Tagak, on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed central office of the Tai Welfare Society (TWS) at Tigdo, Yupia, near the Mental Hospital.

The programme was attended by Tai Tayu, North East In-charge of the Kho-Kho Federation of India and State President of Bharat Raksha Manch (BRM); along with several dignitaries, community leaders, and members of the society.

Addressing the gathering, Tagak lauded both former and present office bearers of the Society for its commendable progress. Congratulating TWS on establishing its central office, he outlined the five ‘Ks’ crucial for organisational success—Karyakarta (volunteers), Karya Samiti (executive committee), Karyalaya (office), Karyakram (programmes), and Kosh (finance). He emphasised that teamwork and collective effort are key to sustained growth.

Highlighting the presence of Tai clan members across Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Keyi Panyor, Papum Pare, and East Kameng districts, he urged the Society to adopt a broader and more inclusive approach. He stressed the need for innovative and meaningful initiatives beyond routine observances such as foundation days and felicitation ceremonies.

For holistic development, he advocated the formation of dedicated sub-committees focusing on education, environmental conservation, cultural preservation, entrepreneurship, sports, and arts.

Earlier, TWS president Tai Nilli and secretary Tai Lorak, along with other speakers, shared their vision for strengthening the organisation and enhancing community welfare.

The newly inaugurated office is expected to function as a central hub for planning, coordination, and execution of various welfare initiatives, further strengthening the mission of the Tai Welfare Society.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from prominent members, community leaders, and well-wishers, reflecting unity and a shared commitment to the progress of the Tai community.
