Itanagar, May 5: Chief Minister Pema Khandu felicitated successful candidates of the Non-Ministerial Technical Examination (NMTE) 2025, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board, and handed over their appointment orders in a function here on Tuesday.
The programme was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia, Minister Balo Raja, and Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta.
Congratulating the newly appointed candidates, the Chief Minister described their success as a reflection of hard work, perseverance, and merit. He also acknowledged the role of families and well-wishers in supporting the candidates’ journey.
Khandu highlighted that while the practice of issuing appointment orders has been in place since the establishment of the Staff Selection Board in 2017-18, the present event marks a more organized and formalized approach, bringing all selected candidates onto a common platform. Such gatherings not only celebrate achievement but also foster a sense of camaraderie among new entrants into government service, he observed.
Emphasizing transparency in recruitment, he said the creation of the APSSB has been a transformative step to ensure that government jobs are awarded purely on merit. He noted that earlier, the absence of a structured system posed challenges for deserving candidates, whereas the Board has now streamlined the process with near zero-error systems and full transparency.
Describing the APSSB as an ISO-certified agency alongside the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, the Chief Minister said the state has built robust institutions to uphold fairness and equal opportunity. He encouraged the recruits to aim higher and prepare for competitive examinations such as the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), noting that reforms have aligned examination patterns to benefit aspirants.
Providing details of the recruitment process, Khandu informed that out of 225 sanctioned posts, 183 were filled through the examination, with 166 candidates receiving appointment orders. Some posts remained vacant due to eligibility constraints or candidates opting for other opportunities. He added that the government is considering introducing a waiting list system to improve efficiency in future recruitments.
Stressing the importance of capacity building, the Chief Minister said structured training programmes are essential, particularly for technical personnel, and called on departments to collaborate with training institutions to enhance professional competence.
Addressing the recruits, he urged them to uphold sincerity, honesty, and compassion in public service. “Government service is about serving the people,” he said, advising them to remain humble and responsive in their interactions with citizens.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to improving working conditions, Khandu highlighted ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure, including office spaces, healthcare facilities, and residential accommodations. He said district-wise reviews are being conducted to identify and address gaps to ensure efficient service delivery.
The Chief Minister affirmed that merit and integrity will remain the cornerstone of governance and expressed confidence that the newly appointed personnel will contribute meaningfully to the development of Arunachal Pradesh.
