ITANAGAR, May 5: A voluntary blood donation (VBD) camp was organized by the Arunachal Life Saving Foundation in collaboration with Dera Natung Govt College at the DNGC auditorium here today, in which 51 units of blood were collected.
The programme witnessed participation from students, faculty members, and volunteers.
Addressing the gathering, DNGC Principal Dr M Q Khan stated that blood donation can help reduce the risk of certain life-threatening diseases and contribute to overall health. He encouraged participants to donate blood, noting that it can help save lives, and suggested that such programmes be included as a calendar event of the institution.
Dr Khan commended the ALSF, especially its chairman Ramesh Jekke, an alumnus of DNGC, for the noble work.
Jekke shared his experience as a regular donor and informed the gathering that he has donated blood 86 times so far. He motivated students to come forward and donate blood.
A medical team led by Dr Tashi from Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, Naharlagun collected the blood (51 units).
