ITANAGAR, May 6: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) has imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 on Er Taluk Rai, PIO-cum-Executive Engineer (RWD), Daporijo Division, Upper Subansiri district, for non-compliance of its earlier order.
According to an order No.APIC-506/2025 (Appeal) dated April 29, 2026, the penalty was imposed under Section 20(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 due to failure to comply with the Commission’s directive issued on March 17, 2025.
The PIO has been directed to deposit the penalty amount in favour of the Registrar, APIC, Itanagar, through Treasury Challan under the Head of Account “0070–Other Administrative Charge” by May 20, and the proof of payment has to be submitted to the Commission. Failure to comply may invite further action under Section 20(2) of the Act, including recommendation for disciplinary proceedings.
