Guv extends World Red Cross Day greetings

ITANAGAR, May 7: Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended warm greetings to the members and volunteers of the Indian Red Cross Society, Arunachal Pradesh State Branch, and to all those devoted to humanitarian service on the eve of World Red Cross Day.

Expressing hope that this year’s themes, “Keeping Humanity Alive” and “United for Humanity”, would further strengthen the spirit of compassion, solidarity and selfless service, the Governor said the occasion offers an opportunity to renew commitment to the noble ideals of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and voluntary service.

In his message, the Governor stated that these principles continue to inspire millions across the world in alleviating suffering and building resilient communities. He appreciated the commendable efforts of the Indian Red Cross Society, Arunachal Pradesh State Branch, for its dedicated work in advancing humanitarian causes, supporting disaster response, strengthening healthcare initiatives, promoting voluntary blood donation and extending assistance to vulnerable and distressed people.

The Governor said that through its unwavering spirit of service and volunteerism, the Society has rendered yeoman service and emerged as a beacon of hope for many.

“I hope this occasion will inspire greater participation of our youth in humanitarian endeavours, deepen community engagement and reaffirm our collective responsibility towards those in need,” he said.

The Governor further expressed hope that the observance would encourage people to keep humanity alive through acts of kindness and service and strengthen the collective resolve to stand united for humanity in building a more compassionate, inclusive and humane society.
