ITANAGAR, May 8: The All Arunachal Pradesh Private Schools & Children Welfare Association (AAPPPCWA) has announced that all private schools operating in the state must admit at least two orphan students as part of a new welfare initiative.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, AAPPPCWA president Yowa Bullet said the admission of orphan students would be subject to certification issued by the respective district administration.

The association also announced that from Monday onwards, it would conduct spot verification of school buses that have been operating for more than five years from the date of purchase.

“The decision has been taken in view of the frequent road mishaps involving school buses,” Bullet stated.

In another key decision, the association issued a regulation encouraging private schools to adopt traditional dress codes. It stated that wearing traditional attire every Friday would help preserve and promote the tribal identity and cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.

It further issued several guidelines for private schools, including implementation of a uniform academic calendar from 2027 onwards, and preparation of yearly schedules for school reopening, vacations and examinations by December every year for the upcoming academic session. Additional measures include mandatory display of emergency contact numbers, ensuring food safety standards in school hostels and kitchens, implementation of school bus safety protocols, and deployment of helpers in every private school bus.
