NERIST hosts Int’l Conference MAiTRI-2026 on Artificial Intelligence and Innovation

NIRJULI, May 8: North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology inaugurated an International Conference MAiTRI-2026 (MAchine inTelligence for Research & Innovations) on Friday, bringing together researchers, academicians, scholars and industry experts from India and abroad to deliberate on recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

The inaugural session began with the felicitation of chief guest Prof Narendranath S, Director of NERIST, and guest of honour Dr Prabodh Borah, Director of Research (Veterinary Science), Assam Agricultural University. The ceremony also featured the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by addresses by distinguished guests and faculty members.

The two-day conference is being organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, NERIST, with a focus on emerging technologies in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and advanced computational research. The conference aims to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, academic collaboration and discussions on innovative technological developments.

The event also includes keynote sessions by renowned experts from reputed institutions in India and overseas. These sessions are expected to provide valuable insights into current trends, challenges and future opportunities in AI and Machine Learning.
