DC Oli Perme inspires students at IGTAMSU Youth Carnival

ZIRO, May 9: The two-day IGTAMSU Youth Carnival 2026 concluded on Friday on a vibrant note with Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme attending the grand finale as the chief guest at the campus of Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University.

Addressing students during the closing ceremony, Perme highlighted the importance of youth participation, innovation and local development, encouraging students to actively contribute towards the progress of society and the state.

The carnival, themed “Celebrate, Express, Inspire,” was organised by the Department of Commerce and Management in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Commerce, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh.

The event commenced on Thursday with student-led stalls showcasing food items and handicrafts, along with a Business Idea Pitch Competition where aspiring entrepreneurs presented innovative business concepts. The inaugural session was attended by Additional Director of Textile and Handicrafts, Toko Okey and DIPRO Tenzing T Totpa. The first day also featured an energetic student dance competition.

The concluding day focused on intellectual and creative activities, including a three-round quiz competition and a fashion show featuring “Go As You Like” and “Formal Round” segments.

After being accorded a formal welcome, Oli Perme witnessed the final performances and later presided over the awards and prize distribution ceremony, in the presence of District Art and Culture Officer Tapi Rimu. The event also witnessed the participation of distinguished invitees, including Tai Arun, TDO; Lalit Maurya, DDM NABARD; Mihin Nancy, secretary of Ziro Press Club; and Prasant Roy, Registrar of IGTAMSU.
