Itanagar, May 13: The Spearhead Gunners of the Indian Army on Wednesday conducted a health outreach programme at Singa village in Upper Siang district under the banner “Seema Arogya Abhiyan – Healing at the Last Mile.”
The initiative was aimed at extending essential healthcare services to one of the remotest frontier regions of Arunachal Pradesh, where access to basic medical and civic facilities remains limited beyond Tuting.
As part of the humanitarian outreach, Army medical personnel provided healthcare services and awareness programmes directly to villagers living in the remote border areas. During the camp, 45 villagers underwent health screening and received treatment from the Army Medical Officer.
The programme also focused on creating awareness regarding personal hygiene, preventive healthcare and basic medical practices to improve community health and wellbeing.
Residents of the village expressed appreciation for the initiative, stating that medical assistance is rarely accessible in the region due to difficult terrain and limited infrastructure.
The outreach programme further reinforced the relationship between the Indian Army and local communities residing in the far-flung border areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
