ITANAGAR, May 18: A Bull Exchange Program was successfully held at Tego Gamlin village in West Siang district today.
Mithun farmers from Tego Gamlin and Yaki Tato participated in the initiative, which aimed to promote scientific mithun breeding, reduce inbreeding, and strengthen the genetic diversity of local mithun populations through a systematic exchange of breeding bulls between villages.
The programme was organized by the Jomlo Mongku Mithun Farmers Federation (JMMFF) and ICAR-NRC on Mithun in collaboration with the Department of AH & Veterinary, GoAP, with Tadang Tamut, farmers’ coordinator cum chairman JMMFF, leading the ‘way’.
