ROING, May 20: Aiming at taking a review of monsoon preparedness of Lower Dibang Valley district, a coordination meeting was held at the district administration’s premises here today, in presence of Deputy Commissioner Fwwrman Brahma, SP Ringu Ngupok, DDMO Tsering Ngurup, heads of departments, administrative officers and representatives from BRTF, CRPF, ITBP, NHIDCL, NHPC etc.
The DC, while reviewing the preparedness of various departments, advised PSUs (NHPC/ NHIDCL/ Power Grid) to give instructions to their labour force to be cautious and stay away from venturing into the Dibang river during the monsoon season, as precautionary measure to mitigation any disaster.
He also called upon the departments and agencies to clear roadside drains to prevent incidences of flooding in the colonies with instructions to map the vulnerable areas in the town and villages of the district.
DDMO Ngurup urged the departments to maintain a buffer stock of essential commodities, medicines etc. (DIPRO)
