Minister Nyato Dukam visits Balinong SEZ, assures support for developmental needs

Itanagar, May 26: Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Trade & Commerce, Nyato Dukam, visited the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Balinong in Changlang district on Tuesday to review developmental prospects and discuss issues related to the project.

The Minister was accompanied by Trade & Commerce Director Sonyung Modi, Officer on Special Duty Riakji Duchok and Deputy Director of Trade & Commerce Toko Togur.

During the visit, the Minister held discussions with district officials, Trade & Commerce department officers and members of the SEZ Balinong Committee regarding the developmental potential and challenges concerning the Special Economic Zone.

The villagers submitted a memorandum seeking early and expeditious development of the SEZ project. They also urged the government to construct a flood protection wall along the Dehing river covering the Balinong and Magantong areas to safeguard the locality from erosion and flooding.

Responding to the concerns, Dukam assured the villagers that the issues and developmental requirements raised during the meeting would be examined for necessary action at the earliest. He reiterated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the state government remains committed to promoting trade, infrastructure and economic development across Arunachal Pradesh.

Earlier, the Minister and his team were received in the presence of Changlang district administration officials, including Superintendent of Police Kirli Padu, Kharsang Sub-Divisional Officer Dorjee Wangchu and Assistant Commissioner of Miao Division Nawang Thutan. Local residents led by village GB and GPC Wangman Ronrang and village youths accorded a warm welcome to the visiting team.
