Guv extends Eid ul Zuha greetings

Itanagar, May 27: Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended his warm greetings to the people of the state, particularly the Muslim community, on the eve of Eid ul Zuha.

In his message, the Governor said that Eid ul Zuha, also known as Eid al-Adha or Bakrid, is a festival of deep spiritual significance commemorating the unwavering faith and devotion of Hazrat Ibrahim (Abraham) towards Almighty Allah.

The sacred festival symbolises timeless values such as sacrifice, humility, compassion, obedience and selfless service to humanity. “Beyond celebrations, Eid ul Zuha inspires brotherhood, mutual respect, generosity and harmony in society, while encouraging people to share happiness and care for the less fortunate,” he said.

Highlighting India’s rich cultural diversity, the Governor said the country’s strength lies in its composite culture, unity in diversity and peaceful coexistence among people belonging to different faiths and traditions. He noted that festivals such as Eid ul Zuha further reinforce these cherished values and encourage people to collectively work for peace, social harmony and national integration.

The Governor expressed hope that the blessed occasion would bring happiness, prosperity, good health and spiritual fulfilment to every home across the country.
