Arunachal wins two medals at Indian Open Int’l Para Athletics C’ships, PAA congratulates silver medallists

ITANAGAR, May 27: In a significant feat, Arunachal Pradesh secured two silver medals at the 8th Indian Open International Para Athletics Championships 2026, held at Bengaluru from May 25 to 27.

Kipa Mero clinched the silver in women’s F-12 Javelin, while Tingong Wangpan got the silver in men’s T-37 sprint event.

Meanwhile, the Paralympic Association of Arunachal (PAA) has extended its heartiest congratulations to medal winners Mero and Wangpan for their achievement at the prestigious Championships in Bengaluru.

“Their remarkable achievements have once again brought immense pride and honour to Arunachal Pradesh and highlighted the growing strength of para sports in the State,” said the PAA.

The Association wished both medal winners greater success in future national and international events.

The Arunachal Pradesh team participated under the leadership of Techi Sonu, Coach, and Takam Pario, Manager.
