Three Arunachal scholars participate in Spl interaction with Prez Murmu

Itanagar, Jun 2: Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona has expressed pride over the participation of three scholars from Arunachal Pradesh in a special interactive meeting with President of India, Droupadi Murmu, organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under the “Birsa Lives in New Bharat Week” as part of the nationwide Janjatiya Garima Utsav.

In a statement, the minister described the interaction as a significant platform that brought together around 200 tribal students from across the country who are beneficiaries of various scholarship schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He said the programme celebrated the enduring legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to educational empowerment, inclusion and nation-building.

Sona congratulated the three scholars from Arunachal Pradesh — Dr Tuyir Riba, Assistant Professor at Assam Don Bosco University; Dr Baanu Loya, CEO of RuBIC, Rajiv Gandhi University; and Dr Lali Lingfa, Scientist-B at TRIHMS — for representing the state at the prestigious event.

All three scholars had completed their doctoral studies under the National Fellowship for Scheduled Tribes (NFST) scheme, Sona said, noting that their achievements serve as an inspiration for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh to pursue excellence with confidence, dedication and purpose.

He added that their participation has brought immense pride to the state and highlighted the growing academic and professional accomplishments of Arunachal’s tribal scholars at the national level.
