Upper Subansiri DEO holds meeting with political parties on electoral roll revision

Daporijo, Jun 5: A meeting with representatives of recognized political parties was convened in the office chamber of the Upper Subansiri Deputy Electoral Officer (DEO) to discuss the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the district.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Bharatiya Janata Party from various Mandals, members of the Indian National Congress, along with Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).

During the meeting, the DEO gave a detailed presentation on the Special Intensive Revision process and outlined the timeline for various activities scheduled under the revision programme. The importance of maintaining an accurate, transparent and inclusive electoral roll was emphasized, highlighting the crucial role of all stakeholders in ensuring the success of the exercise.

The DEO urged representatives of all political parties to extend their full cooperation to the EROs and AEROs in carrying out the revision process effectively. He stated that the SIR exercise is aimed at ensuring a clean, healthy and error-free electoral roll, thereby strengthening the democratic process and safeguarding the integrity of elections.

Representatives of the political parties present assured their full cooperation and support for the successful implementation of the Special Intensive Revision programme in the district. (DIPRO)
