Tai Tagak’s papers found valid for Rajya Sabha poll

Itanagar, Jun 9: BJP candidate Tai Tagak successfully cleared the scrutiny stage for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election from Arunachal Pradesh after his nomination papers were found valid on Tuesday.

The scrutiny of nomination papers for the lone Rajya Sabha seat was conducted at the Nokmey Namati Hall of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Secretariat here by Returning Officer-cum-Secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Tadar Meena, assisted by Assistant Returning Officer Longman Ronrang.

The process was carried out under the supervision of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer and Election Observer Pawan Kumar Sain and Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu, in the presence of the candidate and his representatives.

Officials examined the two sets of nomination papers submitted by Tagak on Monday and found them to be in compliance with the prescribed requirements. Following the scrutiny, he was declared a validly nominated candidate for election to the Council of States (Rajya Sabha), an official communique said.
