RGU distributes Foxtail millet seed to farmers of Namsai dist

ITANAGAR, Jun 9: The farmers from Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh have been provided Foxtail millet seed, thanks to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (FoAS), Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) under millet promotion project for NER funded by ICAR-Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad for financial year 2026-27, according to a press note issued by the RGU.

“Foxtail millet seed distribution was made to the farmers of Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh by FoAS, RGU under millet promotion project for NER funded by ICAR-Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad for FY 2026-27,” stated the release.  

During this distribution phase, Namsai, Lower Dibang Valley (Roing) and Papum Pare districts will be covered during the current FY and further millet processing training’s will be done in the coming days followed by strengthening the farmers with millet processing bakery and Noodle units under the above said project, it further stated, adding, the project is being stewarded under the PI ship of Dr Sandeep Janghu, Dean FoAS (RGU).
