PAMPOLI, Jun 10: Krishi Vigyan Kendra East Kameng successfully conducted an awareness and training programme under the nationwide “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” at Patiwa village on Wednesday, targeting farming communities from Patiwa and Koto villages.
A team of KVK scientists interacted with farmers and highlighted the importance of safeguarding agricultural ecosystems through sustainable farming practices.
The programme focused on promoting soil health management, natural farming techniques and the balanced use of fertilizers to prevent soil degradation and ensure long-term agricultural sustainability.
During the interactive session, farmers were sensitized on the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural technologies, organic composting methods and scientific crop rotation practices aimed at enhancing productivity while preserving the ecological balance of the region.
The scientists emphasized that maintaining soil fertility and reducing dependence on excessive chemical inputs are essential for sustainable crop production and environmental conservation.
The programme witnessed active participation from local farmers, who engaged in discussions on improving farm productivity through eco-friendly and scientifically proven agricultural practices.
