YUPIA, Jun 14: In preparation for the forthcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, offline training programmes for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors were conducted at Balijan and Sagalee under Papum Pare district on Friday.
At Balijan, the training covered BLOs and BLO Supervisors of the 14-Doimukh Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the participants, ADC Balijan-cum-ERO, 14-Doimukh Assembly Constituency, Takar Rava stressed the importance of enrolling all eligible voters while ensuring the removal of ineligible entries through proper field verification.
He urged officials to maintain accuracy and transparency in the electoral roll revision process.
Dr Sandeep Banerjee, APO (Nirvachan), Itanagar, conducted the technical session and provided hands-on training on the functionalities of the BLO App, explaining the procedures to be followed during the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Meanwhile, a similar training programme was organized at Sagalee for BLOs under the 15-Sagalee Assembly Constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Sagalee Kipa Raja called upon BLOs to make every effort to ensure an error-free and comprehensive electoral roll. He highlighted the vital role of field-level verification in strengthening the integrity of the electoral database.
The session witnessed the participation of all BLOs under Sagalee subdivision along with officials from the IT team of the ERO’s Office.
APO (Nirvachan) Saugata Maity demonstrated the use of the BLO App and explained various methods of locating electors and their family members through Election Commission applications and online platforms. Practical aspects of electoral roll verification and data management were also discussed.
The training programmes aimed to build the capacity of field-level election functionaries, ensuring effective implementation of the Special Intensive Revision 2026 across Papum Pare district. (DIPRO)
