CATC-47 underway in Itanagar, 250 NCC cadets participating

ITANAGAR, Jun 15: The 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion National Cadet Corps (1 AP Bn NCC) has commenced its Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-47) and Inter-Battalion Selection Camp for the Cultural Team for the Pre-Republic Day Camp 2027 at Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College, Itanagar.

The camp, being held from June 13 to 22 under the aegis of the National Cadet Corps and NCC Group Headquarters Tezpur, has brought together 250 cadets who are being guided by military staff, Associate NCC Officers and Caretaker Training Officers under the leadership of the Commanding Officer of 1 AP Bn NCC.

The training programme includes physical training, field craft, battle craft, small arms firing, musketry, yoga and lectures by distinguished personalities. The camp aims to instill discipline, leadership, teamwork, national integration and self-confidence among cadets.

The event will also serve as an inter-battalion selection platform for identifying cadets for the cultural troupe that will represent the region at the Pre-Republic Day Camp 2027.

Additionally, cadets are receiving training under the Yuva Aapda Mitra (YAM) Scheme, an initiative of the National Disaster Management Authority, aimed at equipping volunteers with disaster response and emergency management skills. Training sessions are being conducted by instructors from the State Disaster Management Authority Arunachal Pradesh.

Officials said the camp reflects the NCC's commitment to nurturing disciplined, capable and socially responsible youth while promoting fitness, leadership and preparedness for emergencies.
