Free Ayurvedic health camp benefits villagers at Sika Tode

PASIGHAT, Jun 16: A free Ayurvedic medical camp was organized at Sika Tode village in East Siang district on June 14 by Siang Trust, in collaboration with the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR), Pasighat.

The camp witnessed an encouraging response from the local community, with nearly 80 villagers availing themselves of various healthcare services. The services included free medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar screening, and distribution of essential medicines free of cost.

The medical team was led by Dr Jayakrishnan, Assistant Professor at NEIAFMR, along with Dr Sajeena and a dedicated support team from both Siang Trust and NEIAFMR. Secretary of Siang Trust, Jaya Tasung Moyong, was also present and supervised the smooth conduct of the programme.

During the camp, the medical team addressed various health concerns of the villagers and provided guidance on preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyle practices and the benefits of Ayurveda in maintaining overall well-being.

The villagers expressed gratitude to Siang Trust and NEIAFMR for bringing quality healthcare services to their doorstep. They noted that such initiatives are particularly beneficial for people residing in remote rural areas where access to specialized healthcare facilities remains limited.

Siang Trust and NEIAFMR have been jointly organizing similar health camps on a monthly basis in different villages of the region to promote community health and ensure access to affordable healthcare services. The organizations reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such outreach programmes in the future.

The Ayurvedic camps are conducted in addition to the free monthly allopathic health camps organized by Siang Trust.
