Bid to promote digital governance, create awareness about digital platforms

ITANAGAR, Jun 18: A State level workshop on ‘Enhancing Digital Governance through UMANG, myScheme and Digilocker’, organized by the Department of Information Technology & Communication in collaboration with NeGD (National e-Governance Division) and MeitY (Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology) was held at the Banquet Hall here today.

The workshop focused on promoting digital governance and creating awareness about various digital platforms developed by the Government of India.

On the occasion, State Council for IT & e-Governance Chairman Nyamar Karbak and bureaucrat Dr Yijum Tato highlighted the importance and benefits of these digital platforms.

The workshop was followed by presentations from NeGD resource persons.

Prabhnoor Singh (NeGD) explained how DigiLocker enables citizens to security access, store and manage important documents digitally.

Sarwes Kumer shed light on UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) and myScheme.

UMANG, a mobile app which is part of the Digital India initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Government of India, provides access to services from both central and state governments.

On the other hand, myScheme is a national platform that aims to offer one-stop search and discovery of the government schemes. It provides an innovative, technology-based solution to discover scheme information based upon the eligibility of the citizen. (DIPR)
