Itanagar, Jun 20: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended his warm greetings to the people of the state on the eve of the 12th International Day of Yoga and called upon citizens to embrace yoga as an integral part of their daily lifestyle.
In his message, the Governor said that this year’s theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," highlights the enduring value of yoga in promoting physical vitality, mental well-being and emotional balance at every stage of life.
Describing yoga as one of India's most precious gifts to humanity, the Governor said it is not merely a form of physical exercise but a holistic way of life that nurtures harmony between the body, mind and spirit.
"Through regular practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation, yoga enhances flexibility, strength, balance and resilience while reducing stress and promoting inner peace. It empowers individuals to lead healthier, happier and more productive lives," he said.
The Governor also acknowledged the global recognition yoga has received under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose initiative led to the adoption of the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations. He noted that PM Modi’s message that yoga unites individuals, communities and nations continues to inspire millions of people across the world.
