Citing IMD forecasts, Khandu said Arunachal Pradesh is likely to witness widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning from June 27 to July 1, with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall expected in several districts.

He warned that the prevailing weather conditions could trigger landslides, flash floods, waterlogging, uprooting of trees and disruptions to road traffic, power supply and communication services, particularly in vulnerable areas.

The Chief Minister advised people to avoid unnecessary travel to landslide- and flood-prone areas, strictly follow advisories issued by district administrations and regularly monitor official weather updates.

District authorities have been asked to remain prepared and take necessary precautionary measures to ensure public safety during the forecast period.
