PASIGHAT, Jun 30: The Pertin Bodum Ba:né Kébang’s (PBBK) Academic Award Committee (AAC) organized the 6th Annual Academic Excellence & Meritorious Awards Ceremony here on Saturday last.
Aimed at celebrating academic, professional excellence and community spirit among the members of the Pertin family, the event witnessed a vibrant gathering of students, professionals, scholars, elders, and community leaders.
The occasion saw the felicitation of 62 awardees, including meritorious students of classes V, VIII, X, XII, and other achievers in various fields.
The PBBK excellence and meritorious awards were conferred on 11 class V passed out students, while it went to 12 students in class VIII category. The PBBK Gora Pertin Excellence Award in Class X was bestowed on Aido Pertin with her score of 91.2%, while Mumlung Pertin with 90.8 % was awarded the PBBK Onyok Rome Excellence Award and another seven got awarded with the PBBK Meritorious Award.
The PBBK Kirmang Pertin Excellence Award in class XII category went to Ani Mumni Pertin for her score of 90.6% (Humanities), while Binam Pertin with 90.4% was given away the PBBK Baya Pertin Excellence Award, and seven more got awarded with the PBBK Meritorious Awards for their excellent show in examinations.
Apart from the above, Nui Pertin, who secured the Gold Medal in MSc (Mathematics) from NERIST, was awarded the PBBK Gold Medal Award, besides four other academic achievers namely - the PBBK Bakin Pertin Excellence Award went to Gorna Pertin for fetching a BDS seat through NEET, while Mina Kenna Pertin was awarded the PBBK excellence award for topping the APJEE and fetching a Diploma seat. Versatile Couple Award of the PBBK family went to TRIHMS faculty pair of Dr Minggam Pertin & Dr Asthomi Jamoh Pertin for winning the Royal Global King and Queen Award 2025 in Mumbai, while Mime Rine Pertin was felicitated for representing the State in the Mathematics Olympiads in Mumbai recently.
The citations included a certificate, memento, Adi scarf and cash award.
Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, former APPSC (Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission) Member Jalash Pertin emphasized that success in public service and professional life must always be anchored in honesty, integrity, discipline, and accountability.
Drawing from his vast administrative experience, he strongly advocated for an honest approach throughout one’s service career and urged all aspiring and serving public servants to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and maintain spotless service records. He reminded the gathering that reputation is built over a lifetime of sincere service and that integrity remains the greatest legacy one can leave behind.
He also appreciated the role of parents, teachers, and community organisations in nurturing future leaders and expressed confidence that such initiatives would inspire generations of ‘youth’ to strive for excellence in every sphere of life.
Dr Minggam Pertin, Pain Specialist, TRIHMS & General Secretary, Indian Medical Association (AP Chapter), while drawing from his own professional journey, stressed that true success is built upon dedication, resilience, humility, and compassion.
He exhorted students to pursue excellence with sincerity while upholding ethical values and maintaining a healthy balance between professional aspirations, family responsibilities, and service to humanity. He also encouraged the younger generation to remain physically and mentally healthy, continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills, and use their education to make a positive impact on society.
Another major highlight of the programme was the formal release of the book Tribal Migration: Adi Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, authored by Dr Odol Pertin, Principal in-charge Jomin Tayeng Govt Model Degree College, Roing.
A host of other speakers, including former East Siang ZPC and PBBK president Olen Rome, also addressed the gathering.
Earlier, Dr David Pertin, Jt Registrar RGU and AAC Chairman (PBBK), presented a comprehensive report on the academic and professional achievements of the community during the year under review.
