BOMDILA, Jul 2: Dirang MLA cum Advisor (PWD Western Zone) Phurpa Tsering has donated Rs 7.50 lakh, equivalent to his seven months' salary, to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for families affected by the recent floods in Keyi Panyor district.
The contribution is intended to assist flood-affected families as rehabilitation work continues in the district following the widespread devastation caused by the disaster.
Appealing for collective support, Tsering said Keyi Panyor is passing through a difficult period and urged the public and community leaders to extend all possible assistance to the affected families. He stressed that collective efforts are essential to help the victims recover from the disaster.
Meanwhile, in a separate initiative, the West Kameng District Police contributed Rs 79,551 towards flood relief efforts in Keyi Panyor district.
The amount was handed over by DySP Sashi Dore to the All West Kameng District Students' Union (AWKDSU) under the guidance of Superintendent of Police DW Thongon.
The collected amount was received by AWKDSU general secretary Dorjee Tashi and other executive members. The union is currently leading a district-wide fundraising campaign to provide financial assistance to families affected by the floods.
Expressing gratitude, AWKDSU thanked the West Kameng District Police, including the SP and the DySP, for their generous contribution, stating that the donation reflects the police force’s commitment to humanitarian causes and community welfare.
The union also appealed to individuals, organisations and well-wishers to continue supporting the flood victims, saying every contribution would help provide much-needed relief and assistance to the affected families.
