Students sensitized on building careers in banking sector

ITANAGAR, Jul 4: A Career Awareness Program, organized by the SBI SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Association (SEWA) and SBI Regional Business Office (RBO), Itanagar in collaboration with the Apatani Interdisciplinary Research Society (AIRS), was held here today successfully.

Attended by several resource persons from SEWA and SBI RBO amidst the presence of Regional Manager SBI RBO, AIRS executive members and a large number of graduate students participated in the event, which aimed to spread awareness among the local youth of Arunachal Pradesh and encourage them to build careers in SBI and the banking sector so that more youth from the State can secure employment opportunities locally.

The programme also aimed to sensitize students and job aspirants about career opportunities and recruitment in the banking sector.

The session drew a large turnout of graduate students and covered key areas including Career Counseling & Guidance in the banking industry, job opportunities in SBI and career growth prospects, and SBI recruitment process from notification to final selection, besides examination and interview preparation tips.  

During the event, it came to light that in 2024, 85 SBI Junior Associate posts were allotted for Arunachal Pradesh but only nine from the State had qualified.

Later, the trainee students underwent interaction with SBI Officers through a Q&A session.

The event was graced by Binju Karlo, DGS, SEWA Dibrugarh Module, and Rakesh Kumar, Regional Manager, Itanagar. The resource persons for the session included Tashi Nungnu, Chief Manager & SLBC Coordinator; Mridul Boruah, Manager (HR); M Paulunmang Zou, PO; and Tope Karga, regional secretary SEWA.
