Ratan Welfare Society honours meritorious students

Mebo, Jul 4: The Ratan Welfare Society (RWS) Women Wing on Saturday organised the IVth RWS Felicitation Programme–2026 at Siku Resort, Mebo, to honour meritorious students of the Ratan community for their outstanding performance in the APSBE Class V and VIII, AISSE Class X, and AISSCE Class XII examinations.

Dr Kabit Ratan attended the programme as the chief guest, while retired Principal Kaling Ratan was the guest of honour. The event was attended by RWS president Amut Ratan, secretary general Pradeep Ratan, RWS Women Wing president Oken Tamuk Ratan, office bearers, parents, sponsors, and members of the community.

Welcoming the gathering, Oken Tamuk Ratan said the felicitation programme was initiated to promote academic excellence among Ratan students and inspire the younger generation to pursue education with dedication and determination. She also thanked the sponsors, volunteers, and well-wishers for their support.

Addressing the students, Dr Kabit Ratan described education as the strongest foundation for the progress of society and urged them to remain disciplined, hardworking, and focused on their goals. He also appreciated the sponsors for investing in the future of the community.

Stressing the importance of perseverance, sincerity, and consistent effort in achieving academic success, Kaling Ratan advised students to uphold good character alongside academic excellence.

In his presidential address, RWS president Amut Ratan congratulated the awardees and reaffirmed the society's commitment to promoting education, unity, and community development.

Pradeep Ratan highlighted the importance of community participation in nurturing talented students and building a brighter future for the Ratan community.

A career counselling session was also conducted during the programme. Assistant Commissioner Aniyang Ratan guided students on academic streams and career opportunities, while Assistant Engineer Happy Ratan motivated the young participants to pursue success through hard work and self-discipline.

Dr Kayon Ratan, Junior Specialist (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) at BPGH, Pasighat, encouraged students to remain consistent, resilient, and prepared for future challenges.

Presenting the programme report, RWS Academic Secretary Ojing Ratan informed that deserving students were honoured with certificates of appreciation, cash awards, mementoes, and traditional Adi shawls. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by RWS assistant general secretary Ajay Ratan.
