Ayang Trust provides relief kits to 200 flood-hit families in Keyi Panyor

ITANAGAR, Jul 7: Ayang Trust, with support from Ashraya Hastha Trust (AHT), distributed emergency relief kits to 200 families affected by the recent disaster in Possa and adjoining villages of Keyi Panyor district.

The relief operation was carried out in response to the devastating flash floods triggered by a cloudburst on June 24, which caused extensive damage to houses, roads and public infrastructure, leaving hundreds of families displaced.

Following consultations with affected families, community representatives and the local administration, the Trust mobilised humanitarian assistance to meet the immediate needs of the worst-affected households.

Each family received a relief kit containing rice, pulses, cooking oil, sugar, tea, milk, biscuits, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, tarpaulin sheets, kitchen utensils, solar torches, notebooks, stationery and children’s clothing.

A representative of Ayang Trust said the timely support from Ashraya Hastha Trust enabled the organisation to respond quickly to the needs of affected families and expressed hope that the assistance would help them cope during the difficult period.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, stating that the relief materials would help address their immediate needs.

Ayang Trust also acknowledged the contributions of local volunteers, Panchayat representatives and officials of the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) for ensuring the smooth and transparent distribution of relief materials.

The organisation thanked Ashraya Hastha Trust for extending humanitarian support and solidarity to the flood-affected communities of Arunachal Pradesh.
