RWD Minister reviews progress of PMGSY, VVP projects

ITANAGAR, Jul 8: Rural Works Department (RWD) Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive performance review meeting of the department to assess the progress of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) projects being implemented across Arunachal Pradesh.

The meeting focused on reviewing the status of ongoing works, identifying bottlenecks causing project delays, and exploring practical solutions to ensure their timely completion.

Emphasising the need for efficient project execution, Sona called for greater accountability, improved coordination among implementing agencies and strict adherence to project timelines so that quality infrastructure reaches people without unnecessary delays.

He stressed that timely completion of rural connectivity projects is essential for improving access to education, healthcare, markets and other essential services, particularly in remote and border areas of the state.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, the Minister said every project must be executed efficiently, transparently and within the stipulated timeframe to maximize benefits for the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

The review meeting forms part of the department's ongoing efforts to monitor the implementation of key rural infrastructure schemes and accelerate the pace of development across the State.
