ITANAGAR, Jul 10: Arunachal Pradesh’s Rupa Bayor has won the gold medal in the Under-30 Recognised Poomsae category at the 5th Senior Taekwondo Poomsae National Championship 2026, held at Balewadi Stadium, Pune.
With the victory, Bayor has qualified to represent India at the 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship in Korea.
Congratulating the athlete, Chief Minister Pema Khandu lauded her outstanding achievement and said her victory was a matter of pride for Arunachal Pradesh.
“Congratulations to Miss Rupa Bayor on her magnificent achievement of winning the gold medal in the Under-30 Recognised Poomsae category at the 5th Senior Taekwondo Poomsae National Championship 2026. I extend my best wishes to Rupa for the World Championship,” the Chief Minister said.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also congratulated Bayor on her success and wished her the very best for the upcoming World Championship.
“With this outstanding achievement, she has qualified to represent India at the 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship in Korea. Wishing her continued success as she represents the nation on the world stage. May she achieve even greater milestones and make India proud,” Mein said.
