West Kameng DC reviews PMJVK, BDP projects; finalises BBBP action plan

BOMDILA, Jul 10: West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar on Friday reviewed the progress of ongoing projects under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) and the Buddhist Development Plan (BDP), and chaired a meeting of the District Task Force (DTF) for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) 2026-27.

During the review meeting held at the DC's chamber, Dr Kumar assessed the financial and physical progress of 12 ongoing projects being implemented across different parts of the district under PMJVK and BDP. He directed the executing departments to complete the projects within the stipulated timelines while maintaining quality standards.

Earlier, chairing the DTF meeting on BBBP, the Deputy Commissioner urged departments to coordinate with the Forest and Panchayati Raj Departments for plantation drives and encouraged all line departments to adopt innovative initiatives to make the district a model in implementing the flagship scheme.

He also instructed all departments to route official information and event coverage through the District Information and Public Relations Office (DIPRO) to ensure effective dissemination of government programmes and activities.

The DC further encouraged the Police Department to promote innovative initiatives such as the "Choo-Man-Tar" mobile application, developed by the West Kameng Police and funded under the BBBP scheme. The app uses interactive games to educate children about good touch and bad touch.

Deputy Director of Women and Child Development R T Deru made a PowerPoint presentation outlining the roles and responsibilities of the various line departments involved in implementing the BBBP scheme.

In-charge DIPRO Lobom Tamin urged all line departments to keep the DIPRO office informed about official BBBP-related programmes to facilitate timely and wider media coverage.

The meeting concluded with the unanimous approval of the Annual Action Plan for BBBP 2026-27. (DIPRO)
