Addressing the gatherings, Wangyal assured the institutions that MMT would extend all possible assistance and would pursue matters requiring intervention from the Education Department and other government agencies with the concerned authorities.
Education secretary Tashi Dhondup said the apex body plans to organise career counselling programmes for middle and senior school students across the Mon region to help them make informed career choices. He also announced that financial assistance would be extended to needy meritorious students for higher studies through a screening process.
The educational tour aims to establish direct engagement with schools, assess ground realities and create a platform for effectively conveying the genuine concerns of educational institutions to the appropriate authorities.
Outlining the future roadmap, the MMT president said the outreach programme will continue in phases, covering schools in the Dirang area and later the Tawang region. Upon completion of the school visits, the organisation also plans to visit colleges and other higher educational institutions across the Mon region.
The maiden educational tour marks the beginning of MMT's sustained initiative to promote quality education, strengthen coordination among stakeholders and contribute to the educational development of the Mon community.
