Free Ayurvedic medical camp benefits over 50 patients at Mirem

PASIGHAT, Jul 12: SIANG TRUST, in collaboration with the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research (NEIAFMR), organised a free Ayurvedic medical camp at Mirem village under Bilat circle in East Siang district, benefiting more than 50 patients.

Despite the ongoing farming season, villagers turned up in good numbers to avail themselves of the healthcare services offered during the camp.

The camp provided free blood pressure and blood sugar screening, medical consultation, health counselling and distribution of essential Ayurvedic medicines. Organisers said the enthusiastic response from the local community reflected increasing awareness and acceptance of Ayurveda as an effective system of healthcare.

The medical team was led by Dr Rashmi Sahu, Assistant Professor at North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Folk Medicine Research, and included Dr Susdev, pharmacist Sanjit Shah, two NEIAFMR medical students and members of SIANG TRUST.

SIANG TRUST and NEIAFMR have been conducting such free Ayurvedic health camps every month in different rural areas with the aim of making quality healthcare accessible to underserved communities.

The organisers acknowledged the support extended by the PRI members of Mirem, led by GPC Yatong Nonang, and the staff of KGBV Mirem for ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp.
