ANINI, Jul 13: An awareness camp under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative was conducted at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Anini, with the objective of creating awareness among students and faculty on the protection, education, health, and overall well-being of children, particularly the girl child.
The programme featured informative sessions by district child protection officer (DCPO) Dilip Linggi, advocate Oki Mihu and the medical officer from the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Health Department.
The resource persons highlighted the objectives and significance of the BBBP initiative while sensitising participants on important issues such as the protection of children from sexual offences (POCSO) Act, prevention of child marriage, and mental health.
Students were encouraged to be aware of their rights, responsibilities and the importance of seeking timely support whenever required.
As part of the programme, the health department also conducted a routine health screening of the students to assess their general health status and promote preventive healthcare.
The participants were later administered the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao pledge. (DIPRO)
