Itanagar, Jul 16: The 5th sitting of the Committee on Government Assurances (GAC) of the 8th Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly was held on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the Legislative Assembly Secretariat under the chairmanship of Committee Chairman Laisam Simai.
The Committee reviewed Action Taken Replies submitted by various departments, including the Public Works Department (PWD), Sports Department and the Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs (SJETA) Department, on assurances made by the government on the floor of the House during the 4th, 5th and 7th Legislative Assemblies.
The members examined the implementation status of these assurances and stressed the need for timely and effective compliance with commitments made before the Legislature.
The Committee also resolved to seek detailed status reports from the concerned departments on various incomplete projects for examination during its forthcoming sittings.
The meeting was attended by Committee members Talem Taboh, Rotom Tebin and Tsering Lhamu, all MLAs. Among the Legislative Assembly Secretariat officials present were Secretary Tadar Meena, Additional Secretary Agaab Mossang and Under Secretary Kheto Lowang.
