JIA, Jul 25: The 'Mission Clean Jia' campaign, themed "Clean Jia, Green Jia," was launched on Saturday with enthusiastic participation from hundreds of villagers in Lower Dibang Valley district.
Founder-cum-chairman Ajoy Pertin urged residents to maintain cleanliness, hygiene and environmental conservation, calling for collective efforts to build a healthier and greener community.
The programme was attended by Head Gaon Burah Bamgo Ngusang as the chief guest, secretary Metem Litin Banggo as the guest of honour, and Lower Dibang Valley Superintendent of Police Ringu Ngupok, a native of Jia village, who actively participated in the cleanliness drive.
The campaign covered the highway, tourist sites, PHC Jia, Jomin Tayeng Govt Model Degree College, school grounds, colony roads and other public places. A plantation drive was also organised to promote environmental sustainability.
The event witnessed participation from village elders, GBs, Self-Help Groups, Sirum members, youths and residents from different colonies. Organisers said the initiative aims to become a long-term community movement and inspire similar campaigns in neighbouring villages.
