ROING, Jul 29: The Arogya Panchakarma-based Wellness Centre, RIWATCH, successfully concluded two free medical camps in the villages of Abango and Horupahar in Lower Dibang Valley district on July 27 and 29 respectively.
Held as part of the Centre’s ongoing outreach initiative to extend quality healthcare and Ayurvedic wellness services to remote and underserved communities of the district, the camps were led by the Medical Officer of RIWATCH Arogya Centre, Dr Techi Yumyi along with her team. Villagers received free medical consultation and health check-ups, and Ayurvedic medicines were distributed to patients free of cost.
The initiative was aimed at reaching communities who have limited access to regular healthcare services, while also creating awareness among them about the benefits of Panchakarma therapy as a safe and effective system of traditional healing.
At the first camp in Abango village, the medical team attended to 8 patients, comprising 5 males and 3 females. Most of the patients presented common complaints of knee and back pain, and were thoroughly examined by the medical team.
At the second camp in Horupahar village, 31 patients came forward to receive treatment. Across both camps, a total of 39 patients were treated, with an overall footfall of 50 participants attending the sessions, including patients and community members who attended the health awareness talks.
During the interactions, Dr Yumyi apprised the patients and participants of the benefits of Panchakarma therapy, highlighting its role in preventive healthcare, pain management, and overall wellbeing. She encouraged patients to consider Panchakarma treatment, assuring them of its effectiveness and being free from side effects. Patients were also counselled on adopting a healthy lifestyle and maintaining a proper, balanced diet as part of long-term wellness.
