Itanagar, Jul 29: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Wednesday announced the successful charging of the 132 kV Miao–Namsai Transmission Line, describing it as a significant milestone in Arunachal Pradesh's efforts to build a stronger, more reliable and future-ready power infrastructure.
The nearly 41-km transmission line, implemented under the Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening of Transmission and Distribution System (CSST&DS), connects Namsai, Diyun and Miao in Changlang district.
The project is expected to significantly improve power reliability in Changlang district and adjoining areas by strengthening grid connectivity, reducing dependence on long radial transmission networks and supporting the region’s growing energy requirements.
Highlighting the progress of the scheme, Mein said that 91 of the 239 project components have already been successfully commissioned, reflecting steady advancement towards a robust power network that will contribute to economic growth and enhance the quality of life of the people.
The Deputy Chief Minister congratulated Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), the Department of Power, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the district administrations, executing agencies and all stakeholders for their coordinated efforts and commitment in making the project a success.
