Itanagar, Jul 30: Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Minister Mama Natung on Thursday chaired the State-level review-cum-coordination meeting of the PHE & Water Supply Department at the Pare Hall of the DK Convention Centre here to assess the progress of key projects and strengthen water supply services across Arunachal Pradesh.
The meeting was attended by Adviser to the PHE & WS Minister Pani Taram, Commissioner Amjad Tak, Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers and senior departmental officials from various divisions and circles across the state.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the status of ongoing infrastructure projects, implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), budget proposals, flood damage restoration works, water metering initiatives, revenue generation and human resource issues. The SEs presented district-wise progress reports and highlighted implementation challenges.
Emphasising timely execution of projects, Natung directed field officers to expedite JJM works, strengthen operation and maintenance of water supply schemes, improve revenue collection and enhance coordination among departments for effective implementation.
He also assured that the government would take up the issue of regularisation of eligible contractual staff engaged under Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to improving public health engineering infrastructure and ensuring efficient, transparent and people-centric water supply services across the state.
